I had some vacation to take but I didnt want to go hunting by my self. So I took my oldest son Alex out of school for a couple of days so we could spend some farther son time in woods.The rut was on so both of us were excited to get out there and maybe see a big one. It was a clear sky morning with a little moon out walking to the stand early in the morning and my son was amazed by the million of stars in the sky and I felt good about that morning. We got settle in the stand and I was looking down at the feeder and saw somthing feeding. The sun started to come up and my son said it was a hog and he started to get excited because he had never shot a hog. It seemed like that sun wasnt coming up fast enough for him so I told him to calm down and wait till the sun got up a liitle more. The sun finaly was up enough and Alex settle his 243 on the hog and I told him when he was ready take the shot. He took the shot and drilled him and the hog ran about fourty yards and dropped. I was so proud as a dad and for my son.
