Here is a buck that I shot from my Gametamers lock on stand at a distance of 10 yards! Talk about closing the distance..........well thanks to a little spike buck and some grunting on my part, I made a perfect heart shot on this typical 11 pointer that gross scored 138", not bad for Williamson county just north of Austin, TX! My hunting property is free range so this was not an easy hunt. The spike was standing in front of me at about 15 yards and started to leave so I wanted to see how he would respond and I grunted at him 3 times as he turned and walked away. All of a sudden, I heard a loud commotion to my right and here came the big buck trotting in with his hair on his back raised and as he got in front of me, I grunted softly with my mouth to stop him broadside at 10 yards! Wow, I was pumped because this was Oct. 18th and was the 1st time that I got to go hunting this year!! I barely had time to grab my bow and get to full draw it happened so fast. The buck only ran about 50 yards and piled up so there wasn't even a tracking job. I could not believe it when I actually saw him for the 1st time; I called my mom Peggy who is 73 and loves to hunt and told her about my good fortune. She was ecstatic just like I was; you should have heard the excitement in her voice! Anyway, thanks for listening to my story and please keep showing your hunts on versus TV; my family and I love it!
